A simple 10-minute routine
- Spend two minutes tapping and hearing five or six syllables.
- Choose one consonant row and say the matra sound before reading the full syllable.
- Use Practice or Quiz for three minutes, allowing the child to try before helping.
- Finish with the worksheet tab and write three to five syllables on paper.
Make matras easier to remember
Keep the sound and symbol together. Say “क + ा = का” while pointing to each part, then ask the child to find another consonant that uses the same matra. Short comparisons are more useful than asking children to memorise a long chart in one sitting.
Use the same pattern in books, labels, and family names. When children notice a familiar matra in real reading, ask them to tap or underline it rather than turning the moment into a test.
